During Jazzdance class:
Teacher: Thank you for coming guys. I hope to see you next week because we have an event right here…blah blah…We have celebrities coming. Wanna know who they are? U2! U2 is coming to perform with us. So bring your dancing shoes because they’re going to bring the house down. You have to pay 200 dollars but all proceeds will go to Cancer foundation.
Me: (in a very loud voice that everybody could hear me) U2?
Teacher: Yes, you know them? (she seemed surprised because I am obviously non-Chinese and for me to recognize U2 is a big deal)
Me: Of course! Who doesn’t know U2?
**At the back of my head: It can’t be right. U2, the best rock band of all time, is coming to Hong Kong specifically to this little fitness center to perform with sweating socialites? Can you imagine Bono and the rest of the gang playing fitness music? But if it’s for charity, it can be a possibility. Bono is known for his charity works all over the world.
Teacher: Everybody knows them. They’re the most famous dance group these days. So I’ll see you guys next week!
Me: Oh.
**How can they name themselves U2? It’s a mortal sin to use the name of an institution of rock history!
The following week I came, but just to work out. I am not paying 200 dollars to see U2, the most famous dance group in HK.
On my way to the changing room, I saw the poster for the event: E02!
I-ow-tu=Yu-tu.. Garr... Isang linggo akong di pinatahimik..
And they are just a bunch of dugyutin teenagers. Boohoo.

imagine bono and the edge doing jazz dance with the intsik in HK (while singing "all i want is you" or "with or without you"). that's pure insanity, blossom.
