so what makes you happy? for me...

Happiness is…

1) Traveling, talking to locals, getting lost then finding your way after a few hours but while on it you find a surprise destination that makes you want to say, good thing i did not follow the guide book
2) reading mails from long time friends
3) taking photos all day, all night
4) exchanging ILY’s with someone, romantic or not
5) crossing the pedestrian lane just in time before the man turns red
6) eating Vietnamese food, and Japanese food, too!
7) waking up on Sunday morning. I love Sundays. It’s like you were able to rest from the wild and hectic Saturday, and you can always turn it into a good day to start the following week right
8) listening to the songs you used to love from years back on the radio
9) having bbq with the family
10) doing a joyride with e and c, then stopping for zagu along the road
11) watching a very nice movie that you think about it for at least a week more
12) being on top of a mountain after a long hike
13) snorkeling
14) reading a good book by favorite author on a quiet night
15) dancing, singing along and/or just banging your head while on a concert of your favorite band
16) hugging people you care about
17) going downhill when riding a bike and the wind just blows through your face
18) reading a note from the government that you don’t pay much tax
19) seeing old couples still with love in their eyes
20) solving a Sudoku puzzle

BS 48-52

so im back in hk. i really had a marvelous trip, until i lost my hk id and credit card today.. fuuuuckk! anyway, let's get over it. they are gone for good and it should not impede my story telling about my madrid trip.

so the story continues...

i showed you the night shots of the palacio real and catedral de nuestra seƱora de almudena. i did the whole tour of palacio real which officially kicked off my madrid sightseeing journey. i was lost for an hour until i found my way to the main route. and boy it was so grand it's unbelievable! every room is filled with very rich designs and they are filled with luxurious stuff that it could intimidate anyone. i've never been to any palace before and i must tell you that what you see in the movies are not an exaggeration. when you leave the palace you'd feel that life is unfair that you live in a tiny room when the royalties lived in such elegance and richness... but somehow you'd feel proud that at least once in your life you were able to witness such a beauty.

infront of it is the biggest cathedral in madrid. i did a whole tour of it on my last day but photo taking was not allowed. it's just big on its size but i've seen better churches in this trip. it's just big and perhaps it is lucky to have been facing the palacio real the whole time that the association with a grand place gives it more credit than it deserves.

i woke up the next day very early to go to toledo, spain's former capital. i'll post more photos of toledo on my future posts, but meanwhile i share these photos that i took while waiting for the train. one is the madrid-atocha renfe station, then the agriculture ministry building. don't you just love madrid?!? it's so european as we imagined it to be. hihihi..

this is the apalit church and my most favorite church when we did the church hopping joyride trip when i went home last christmas. it's really out of the way from the other churches but it was worth the long drive. the inside is also a must see! this is one of the times when i was proud that i came from the province of pampanga.

sabi ng yoga instructor ko...

Enjoy the present moment. Don’t dwell on the past. And don’t worry about the future.

tama! paaak!

landi lang nang landi.. punyetang pagmamahal kay b na yan, nakamove on na lahat, ako na lang hindi! simula ngayon promise talaga i will be consciously avoiding any thoughts about him. at saka ung taong mahal ko din pero walang nangyari, kakalimutan ko na din at di nako aasa. nyeta, kung may nangyari dapat dati pa. napagod na ako. naiinis na ko sa sarili ko sa pagiging pathetic ko. enough! enough! di naman ako pangit para umasa na mahalin din nila ako sooner. ewan ko ba, may utak naman ako and im sure i can think of ways to make things happen sa susunod. gaaahhh!!!

urgh. urgh.

BS 34-37

this is my first CNY which i am simply present in hk. first year i was in beijing, then 3 CNY's after that i was home doing grand scale vacations. but since i just went home last christmas and im sure my family does not miss me yet, i decided to just stay in hk and spend it with friends. and boy did i have a good time!

CNY eve i was with friends having a turkish dinner and we capped it off with the craziest chocolate ice cream i've ever had. im a chocolate ice cream lover but this one has got to be at the top of my list! then we headed to a new bar where we had shisha, then ended the night out with one set from a pinoy band with mojito. aaaahhh! and the holidays havent even started yet! thank god for chinese people!

first CNY holiday i went with friends at the nan lian garden and chi lin nunnery. i've been to several temples outside hk but i have to say this one gives those temples a run of their money. i couldn't believe that in the middle of hustle bustle of a kowloon residential area, there lies such a beautiful tranquil place. we tried the vegetarian restaurant inside the garden but it's quite expensive. it's still a good experience but i dont think i'd go there again. we went to honeymoon dessert as our last hurray. i got a taste of the durian pancake and i think once is enough. it's like eating a creamy bitter white shit! aaaahhhh!!!

i did not plan anything on the second day. but i ended up seeing friends for dinner where we had italian food cooked by pinoy chefs. as in we can hear them gossiping from our table. we ended the night with a night out watching a live band and smoking and eating tapsilog at 2am.

third day was a test of our knees and calves. we hiked the highest peak in hk. we saw 4 different waterfalls and we saw the beauty of the new territories. it's really a spectacular view up there. the hike ended after 5 hours and we ended up in a very local area where you see the infamous wishing tree where locals attach a pink card with a plastic mandarin toy and throw it into the magic tree. on the same area we also saw the floats from the night parade two nights prior. my legs are still hurting until now!

today is the last day and i made it my geek day. i went to the art museum to see 18 replica of the more famous sculptures of the louvre museum. then i headed to the science museum to see the marvelous works of leonardo da vinci. he was called 'the most talented person who ever lived' and after seeing his inventions and masterpieces, it's really hard to deny him that title. if i lived during his time, he would have been my life hero.

my four bs were from our last hike, here you go:

BS 28-33

i know i've been lagging behind on my project... but you see, i have some good pictures from our last hiking trip that i had to wait for 6 days to post them all in one go. i must say it's one of my most favorite hikes to date. the weather was so fine, i was with close friends and we really had fun, and the skies are just crazy blue that my photos look super even if my photo skills are really rusting. then we wrapped the hike with an abundant pinoy resto dinner, then a movie showing of here comes the bride. i watched it several times already but i still laugh everytime! so here you go... tai tam reservoir i love you!
