my first time to ever watch a world renowned circus! i mean i watched circus circus in abc 5 when i was little, but to see them for real is really an experience!
i used to think that there would always be some cheating going on. i mean, humans aren't psychology and physiologically fit to traverse through a thin rod to get from one end to another, are they? or what about confidently flying tens of feet above the ground?
my colleague and i availed the side tour packages offered by the travel agency commissioned by the hk trade council. one of them is the moscow circus, which according to some people i know is the most famous circus entourage in the world, more famous than cirque de soleil.
anyway,on our way to the venue, the tour guide already asked us to switch our minds and turn them into what it was when we were kids. he said that we need to find the child in us so we can enjoy the show.
and the child came out naturally! woot! woot!
one word: amazed!
this is how jampacked the venue was. we came there on a wednesday, but it was full house!
the greasy rodeo number. this is beef! beef! raawwwrrr!
this is supposed to be painted by a clown on to the wall. the clown is located at the other side of the dome, about 50 meters distance.
birds, birds, birds, birds. any show wouldn't be complete without these little flying creatures.
some of 'em dancers in colorful costumes. they would really make you groove!
four acrobats in gay costume, and in a giant mesh holder:
the production is so huge that they even mounted an ice skating rink on the same stage. extremely cool, eh? the ice fairy:

the sea lion number. darn, this sea lion is so huge that he couldn't carry himself. he's like a big heavy chunk of brown slime. but a cute slime nonetheless - and hoola hooping, too!
i think a circus isn't really a circus without bragging that they have trained the king of the jungle. so here you go:
the black acrobats! they really did a very astonishing number. ive always been a fan of human pyramids and air-throwing. nice gentlemen, nice.
and don't forget the camels. the camels look a bit weird though. they have such big humps at the back that i pitied them instead of having fun with them:
and the best part of the show! the flying acrobats! woot! woot! this was my favorite part in tv's circus circus, and it's also my favorite part in the moscow circus. you have no choice but to hold your breath, praying that they make it:
have i said that the production is huge? they even held synchronized swimming with the pool on the stage, after they removed the skating rink. brilliant. brilliant.
the whole cast doing their final bow:
great job guys!
the show lasted 2 hours. cost me 450hk. worth it. worth it!
