To the one that got away:

I owe to you all the remaining good things about me that I am proud of.

You know the saying “love is all about bringing out the best in somebody”? It certainly was love in our case.

Do you know that I still feel blissful whenever I remember how you cried because you were so happy to have me? Do you know that I can still feel the warmth of your comforting hugs? Do you know that I am still sorry that we ended?

Of course you don’t. And I guess there’s a perfectly good reason why not.
