my first real encounter with a pinoy celebrity

im not talking about having a photo op ala fan pic here. im speaking of a 3 day encounter with the original 'mr babaero' of pinas. kuya jong invited me to become his VIP coordinator for an abs-cbn event. tfc's services in hk got better so they had to do a relaunch. what better way to do it than bring a celebrity to hk? pinoys love celebrities. look at our political system. enough blsm, that's another story. i was informed that they were originally rooting for angel locsin, then it went down to aga muhlach, then to maricel soriano. the opportunity eventually went to randy santiago. i think he's still the most eligible amongst the choices. can you imagine angel locsin doing what she does best, ie, flaunting her boobies infront of thousands of ofw's? i've nothing against her. really. i used to like her in clic. yes, i used to watch that show! when she and richard g were twins with passionate lines to each other. ano daw???

actually when i said vip coordinator, i really meant adhoc slave. first responsibility involved welcoming the abs team. welcoming means enduring celebrity tardiness, dinner, taking them to sponsors and a night out. at oo, nasagot ko ang malaking tanong na bumabagabag sa akin nung bata pa ako! gaano ka-kirat si randy santiago??? at dahil mabait ako, isheshare ko ang sekreto! hindi sya disgusting! no deformities of any sort! hindi lang talaga sila pantay. walang nakatuklap na eyelids. parang namaga lang. halatang may mali pero di totoo ung iniisip nyong disgusting. he's nice. kalog. hindi ma-ere. pero eto: medyo di kanais nais ang ngipin. di ko alam bakit pinupuntirya ng mga tao ang mata, e mas nakakaoff ang ngipin. di pantay tapos medyo dark pa. parang ngipin ng matandang lalaking intsik. oh well, ako lang siguro un. ngipin kase una kong tinitignan sa tao.

sunday was the big day. before lunch time, we had to visit pinoy stores around hongkong, and announce that there will be a pera o bayong segment in central. this is the start of the actual work. imagine being sandwiched by wailing excited women trying to get a hold of randy while announcing the benefits of tfc. hmmmm... then we're off to the grand event. im an official photographer this time together with dave and b. aaahhh, the joys of photography.

the main performers for the event was the band ART (amplified rescue team). they're a band from manila and they're doing a good job in one of the bars in hk. grabe in seven days i heard them perform in five different nights! groupie?!?

guys, meet my future husband, the drummer of art: stanley! haha! he's a real hunk, im telling you. pero married na - with an eight year old kid! jusko, dati mga tibo, tapos naging bading ang type ko, ngayon ung mga may esmi na! haha! di na ko tumino ever!

what i did the last day? hosting the event! and this happened in an exclusive party! as in the big names of pinoy assocs in hk ang attendees! including the consul general! saan ka pa? sosyal kung sosyal! i was wearing a nice dress looking gorgeous as always and cute single guys were flocking all over me. feeling! exaggeration lang un! pero something to that effect. they were asking if im part of the abs team? artistahin? haha! sabi ko na dapat sinali na ko ng nanaj ko sa little miss philippines dati. e di nagkadaupang palad pa kame ni aiza seguerra! wehe!

nice experience overall.

who's next? juday and ryan agoncillo! may 11 daw! sana matuloy! haha! dapat piolo na next! i love you piolo!

after beach scenes, how about pier and party scenes?

this was the first weekend of me and b together. also the first weekend that marked my biggest heartbreak to date. in the afternoon i just walked around kennedy town with my friend dave. we talked about his married life and b's married life's implications on mine. it's good to have him around.

this is the kennedy town pier. this will be my new tambayan.

i

at night i went to lkf to take photos of the hk rugby sevens festival. this is really crazy shit. people were really crazy. they're all wild, clad with their costumes (there were people who're in power ranger attire!) and beer in hand. after a few shots i walked home alone. i went there with b but we separated ways after the shoot. i just couldn't be part of a festivity when deep inside i was dying.

but the heck, im ok now. we're ok now. so far. we chose to be happy. together.

life's a beach

what's the best way to celebrate the end of winter? sunbathing! this is my first time to act like a non-tropical-country-person by exposing myself to the scorching heat of the sun for at least three hours without sunblock on the beach. sorry, no pics of my fat body here. but i'll give you a treat on the common beach scene in hk. this is repulse bay. the beach for the commoners. hehe..

my friend kat invited me to her holiday volleyball match. i met a couple of new friends but it was really a day of good photos and loads of vitamin d.

long live summer!

rollercoaster life i got

hey. i am officially a mistress. in every sense of the word - legally speaking.

being a feminist that i am, i am fighting this fight not only because i love b dearly. it is also a fight against ignorance and forced marriage. yes i know he did lie. but when i look into his eyes, i could see that he loves me more than anything. i could feel that he loved me truly. the fact about the wife and the baby is really a significant information but i see it as a past that just keeps on haunting him. i may not know him back then but i could imagine it to be dark and messy. and i know that it is pretty accurate. he has changed, and im glad to be one of the factors for his new life. but i guess there's really karma. just when he was consciously wasting his life, he'd find the girl for him.

b said that there's hope that the marriage could not have been filed - like a 1% chance. i hung on to that uber slim chance since there was not much i could do. and i was hoping that the girl's family would realize that marriage is not the answer. it never is. i may not believe (or perhaps more of 'afraid to believe') in marriage but i know that once you dive into it you better be 100% sure. i know a lot of friends who have failed marriages. they're blaming the institution when they hadn't been sure why they tied the knot in the first place. b can still support the baby if it is really his, but the girl's family would have some sense to think that their daughter can start anew with another guy who would give her the love that she deserves no matter how shitty her life had been. i don't feel remorse for the girl. well i don't think i have the right to feel that to begin with. but i pity her so much that she was made to believe that her life ended because of an accident. i know she's got a lot of potential to grow as a person, even if she's an unwed mother. but this bloody tradition of saving the clan's reputation is plain stupid, if not completely wrong.

my bestfriend had some contacts with the national statistics office and she was able to check if the marriage was really filed. unfortunately (in my point of view), it was filed. the date was july 12, 2006. my world shattered completely after i found out. i was running out of breath that i couldn't hear my boss who was scolding me at the time. the pain is too much to bear. this is like getting rejected by your dream job times ten. prior to that i kept telling myself that i would distance myself from him if it's confirmed. that's the sign, right? i swear that i really tried. i ignored his calls a couple of times but after that i acted sweeter than ever. he didn't even have to say sorry, fall down to his knees or take some slap. i saw him a couple of hours later and i could feel that force that draws me into him. and i gave in. call it weakness, lust, or however you call it. i call it love.

whenever my friends have relationship problems, i always ask them to get out of it. if it has gotten to the point of losing respect for oneself, then it is not love to begin with. i have to agree with them now that it is easier said than done. it's a whole lot different story once you put yourself into the confused person's shoes. i have always been a fighter and i don't see any reason why i should stop fighting now. i haven't felt so light and i owe it to him. marriage dissolution could take forever. i don't even know if we're ending up together. but i know that if i don't hold on now and exhaust everything i could give, i'd regret it in the future. i don't want to look back feeling sorry that i hadn't given my all.

we're still together in the house. the trust factor has been slighted, naturally. things will never be the same. but who knows, maybe things would be better. no one knows about the future. if given the choice between what is right and what is legally wrong but could make me happy, i'd choose the latter in a heartbeat. like what i told my bestfriend, i could be lonely now or two months from now when he goes back to the philippines. why do i have to agonise now when i still have time to be happy? i deserve to be happy, and i call that respecting myself. i don't have to be hypocritical about it.

he's talking to a lawyer about the annulment. he better move fast. i may be a fighter, but i was never good at waiting. and oh, make me a glass of pure orange juice every morning. woosh!!

what's the sound of a heart breaking?

devastated would be an understatement to describe what i feel right now.

who would have thought that my life would turn around three hundred sixty degrees in less than a week's time?

on monday i felt like spending the rest of my life with one person whom i didn't know for a long time but felt like he is indeed 'the one'. you could feel it, right?

on tuesday, i thought i was spotting giving me some fears that i was preggers.

on wednesday he moved in to my place.

by thursday i thought that we were invincible. we may be uncertain of the future. we're both contract workers in a foreign land and who knows what will come after our contracts expire? but we are one hundred percent sure that we got each other. and that's what matters.

then friday, i got the most unexpected call. it was from his sister. i was informed that he's legally married and has a more than a year old daughter, whose name is the same as my nickname! shit. how can that happen? he's too young! i've been fooled all along. i always thought that i would lead a simple life. i'd work my ass off, meet a boyfriend, get married, have children, grow old and die. no complications. this is so much more than a telenovela! i never pictured a life with traumatic situations. one person can only take so much! i am not a bad person. i didn't do anything wrong to get all these bloody karmas.

why me? do i have a mark on my forehead that says "jerks welcome"? no, make that "married jerks welcome". no, scrap that again. make that "married lying jerks welcome".

he said that it's a 'pikot' case. they still do shotgun marriages these days? bloody hell. the family of the girl happened to be influential and it would be a disgrace to their clan if she becomes an unwed mother. so my (ex)bf married her before coming to hk. how convenient?! they don't love each other, according to what i was told. but b sends money for the baby every month.

it was raining im sorry's last night and they didn't lessen the pain. not a single bit. im not sure if i could accept an mutually separated guy if you ask me now. one thing's for certain though: lying to the person you love is just plain unforgiveable. i would never do that. or did he love me to begin with?

but the heck, im a masochist. he sleeps in the other room. he's got nowhere to go. have i said that im a masochist?

deja vu? lying? cheating? living with ex's? im back to 2004!

i've been saving my 200th post...

i am keeping a very good event for my 200th post. it's a celebration reaching that number in a year and a half's time. some people tend to get lazy updating their blog, but this has been what's keeping me in my entire stay in hk.

so here it goes. note to self: be careful what you wish for. if you ask for an almost life-changing event, that is certainly what you're going to get.

my world shattered today. i thought no one would beat the experience of getting cheated by your college bestfriend while still living with your significant other. i mean, what worse could happen than that? i thought i could manage all heartbreaks because i've been through the worst of hell and it took me more than three years of loneliness plus a work abroad to get over it.

until today. what about believing all lies by the person whom you thought is your world?

my hands are shaking now. my eyes are filled with tears.

god, haven't i had enough?

my first love letter to b? hehe...

i never believed in soulmates, unrequited love, forever. but if there is indeed 'the one' for everybody, i'd be happy to say that you're that person for me. i never thought that my ideals for a boyfriend no matter how silly they are, would be personified without any shortchanges. i hoped for a naturally beard-less and leghair-less principled guy who will love me like crazy. and poof! then you came right underneath the traffic light in central on the sixth of october in the last year of the pig. you love me more than i could ever hope for. it's one crazy love that is free. and sincere.

it's always an adventure with you around. we like doing great things together. but i know this relationship will not always be like a smooth walk in the park. there'd be lots of adversities along the way. but hell, im ready to face them with you. let's just hang in there, alright? we'll be fine.
