my protege

i never liked kids. but if you were to ask me if i were to have a kid and it's going to be anjelica, i'd confirm that i can be a mom now. she's an adorable kid and she looks up to me for some reason. i still remember 8 years ago when i brought my ex to my place and we had to babysit her. we were kissing and anjelica caught us. we made it look like it's normal to do it. that we had to kiss her as well. kids are really good observers, you know.

this is anjelica 4 years ago:

time flies so fast that the kid that you took care of is now telling you how she got crushes and slutty kid friends. i watched this little baby grow up. and now, she's really fast becoming a lady.

good bye pampanga.. i'll see you soon.

my first time to go the clark airport. photo taken before i boarded the plane back to hk.

i've been seeing this mountain (mt arayat) for 18 years now. i suddenly felt nostalgic about it. when i daydream during hs, i just look at it. when i was going back home during weekends when i was in the university, the sight of it is the sign that im almost home. it's my favourite mountain.

anawangin and capones islands, zambales

i will always love zambales. it's the nearest beach destination from pampanga and we loved its beaches! the perennial olongapo and subic.. then the virgin potipot island, and now... anawangin and capones.

ok, here's the thing. this is going to be our first real joy ride. it was our first time to go to such place and we prepared ourselves to eat on the road, feel the scorching sun, get lost, ask for directions, get caught by traffic enforcers, and all other adventures that you could think of. and as for getting caught by enforcers? yes, we weren't an exception. well blame the complicated traffic rules in sbma!

i planned the itinerary and it was a real fruitful 30 hour trip. i wanted it to be memorable so i called outdoor activity centers in subic. it's not cheap but for the experience, it may be worth it.

first stop was the canopy walk at the jest camp area. we paid 1 grand for all three of us and we experienced three stages of overhead canopy slide. i was bragging that it wasn't my first time doing it because we had a school outing five years ago in the same area. turned out im the freakiest amongst us three. it takes a while for them to convince me to let go and slide my way through. it was pure adrenaline rush.

canopy assistant: ok, bilang ako'ng 3 tapos talon ka ha
me: aaaahhhh... teka, pwedeng hanggang 5?
^^ repeat the conversation above ten times

emmy (waiting at the end of the slide to take a video): blossom, ano ba, one minute na to, di ka pa rin bumababa! mas matagal pa naghihintay kesa pagtalon mo!
wooooooooooooooossshhhh!

me: oh fucker, im still alive! waaahhhhh!!

then we tried treetop adventure. this is more fun-filled. we did a 'superman slide' where you basically do a faster canopy walk. only this time there are bars on your hands and feet that you'll feel like flying. another adventure would be the rapeling. there are three different styles of going down but i opted for the seemingly most exciting one. how about going down a few meters below, but you have to do it UPSIDE DOWN? it was really an exciting moment. you control your descent and you only have to rely on yourself to calm your nerves, slide through that thin rope and let go. aaahhhhh!!!

we also did a little hiking with a jungle survival lecture. we were taught how to make fire out of bamboo poles, make a soap out of aloe vera leaves, etc.

you have to give it to the assistants of treetop. they were really articulate and very mindful of the guests. we had even gotten close to them that they let us eat on their dining table. we ate our baon na cordon bleu to our heart's content. as a sign of gratitude, we gave them one roll.

then we're off to anawangin, it's a little over an hour drive from sbma and this is where the real road trip begins. we have a tattered map that states the town that we have to pass by. for some reason we skipped one. we had to ask somebody every ten minutes because we really had no idea how to get there. i did a good research on anawangin and capones but i know we're still up for a surprise when we get there. we landed at the pundaquit beach where you ride another boat to take you to anawangin. after negotiating with a boatman, we hastily vacated the car and transferred all our stuff. for an overnight shoot, we really overloaded our boat. well, we're there for a photo shoot! we arrived there at about 5pm and we only had little time pitch our tent, take photos in the jungle and swim. there were only 4 people in the island: me, b, emmy and the caretaker. we practically owned it for a night! haha!

i was the only one who swam. after two minutes of soaking my body into the cold zambales waters, i glanced back and saw the sun setting quite quickly. i had two seconds to go back, take my camera and shoot. i was obviously too late.

during my camping class years ago in UP, we also put up a bonfire. but it's different this time. i like the people im sharing the fire with, literally speaking. the last thing i want to be is to be stranded in an island with people you despise and all you see are their faces. it was pitch dark and good thing we had b to set the fire and we enjoyed melting marshmallows. yum yum!

i really love anawangin for its purity and convenience. no pun intended. the caretaker really keeps the place clean and there's fresh water available through the poso. there are wooden cottages available, too.

then time to shoot emmy! you have to give it to her. b and i really fight when it comes to photography. for some reason we know that we're both good at it that we naturally brag about the techniques. emmy was patient enough to smile regardless of the fighting couple shooting her. we weren't as crazy as in other shoots, so it turned out well.

we woke up quite early and the boat fetched us at 7pm so they can take us to capones island. anawangin and capones share the same body of water but when you do snorkeling for both, you'd feel the difference! anawangin is more of your family picnic getaway with grey flat sands. but capones is different. it's rocky and a very good snorkeling haven! wooohooo!!! we still had to do a day shoot so we had to go back to the shore after two rounds. only downside is the presence of enormous seaweeds that you have to struggle with. they are so big that they can really scratch your legs! haayyyaaaa!!! but i still went, swam, snorkeled anyway! :p

that caps our zambales experience. but of course we would not miss the 'cafe restaurant'! we had a good serving of an 18" taco and plenty of other good dishes! this is life! haaayy..

looking forward to our next joyride! photos! photos!

first measure for measure press release

we were expecting an article from hk news last sunday. we were waiting to be credited on the photos of our rehearsals that they were supposed to publish. we were quite sad because we weren't featured yet. but b and i were quite surprised to see THE SUN, another hk based paper. no actually scrap that, we were not just surprised. i, particularly, was hysterical. why wouldn't i be? look at the article below :)

i don't have any idea why they put my profile shot there. im not a major character. but thanks to the sun nonetheless for featuring m4m. wooo!!! im getting jelly legs with all the excitement! we only have three weeks to go!!! waaaahhhh!!!!

before i forget

well im happy on my last post. but let me share about this 'funny' incident about one of the people im working with right now.

she asked me to check her personal email because we needed to retrieve one information urgently.

then being the gossipmonger that i am, i checked her other emails. there was a saved chat conversation with another guy from work.

girl: i hate one of the people in our group
guy: sino? si bubbles?
girl: blossom

d) naisahan ako. parang nananadya. gusto ata talagang pakita saken.
e) tinawag na naman akong bubbles. ilang ulit ko bang sasabihin na ako si blossom?
f) none of the above
g) all of the above

pero kebs...sumipot sya a week later. kinakausap ako na parang wala lang... gusto ko syang tanungin kung bakit nya ko hate. pero wag na, iannoy ko na lang sya lalo para dumami lalo wrinkles nya. haha!
